JULABO achieves silver medal in EcoVadis sustainability ranking
In May 2024, JULABO GmbH was awarded the silver medal in the internationally renowned EcoVadis sustainability ranking. This puts the temperature control technology specialist from Seelbach in the top 15% of all companies analyzed worldwide regarding corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Sustainable corporate management is not just a buzzword for JULABO, but an integral part of our corporate culture and business strategy. CSR encompasses the responsibility of companies towards the environment, their employees, customers and society as a whole - from ecological and ethical business practices to social projects. At a time when sustainability and ethical behavior are becoming increasingly important, it is essential for companies to face up to these challenges and take proactive measures.
"We are convinced that sustainable and responsible behavior is the foundation for our long-term success. The silver medal in the EcoVadis ranking shows that we are on the right track and encourages us in our efforts to continuously improve," says Markus Juchheim, CEO of JULABO. "This way, we are making our contribution to a better future for everyone. In line with our corporate vision >Superior Temperature Technology for a Better Life<."
JULABO had received the bronze medal in the previous year's evaluation. In 2024, the company has now moved up to silver. "Our initiatives to improve sustainability are having an impact," explains Charlotte Zimmermann, who coordinates all relevant CSR topics at JULABO. "We have once again improved significantly in several areas of the sustainability ranking."
For example, EcoVadis categorized the communication of the Code of Conduct to customers and suppliers as a strength. Among other things, this contributes to fair working conditions along the entire supply chain and the prevention of corruption. In the area of environment, JULABO scored points for its ISO14001 certification and in-house production of renewable energy, as well as its exemplary handling of waste and hazardous substances.
"The sustainability experts from EcoVadis were particularly impressed by our transparent salary structure in the area of labor and human rights," Zimmermann continues. "At JULABO, there is a company-wide systematic pay structure and therefore virtually no gender pay gap. A great success in the important area of equality, which also makes us an attractive employer in the region and beyond, in my opinion."
